Cabot Creamery Receives Top Honors at National and International Dairy Competitions

Cabot Creamery received high marks from industry experts at two prestigious contests held domestically and abroad — the American Cheese Society and International Cheese and Dairy Awards.

"We are incredibly proud to see our cheese and butter at the top of the winners' lists in these competitions,” said Jason Martin, SVP, Operations. “These achievements belong to our entire team, from the farmers who supply the milk, to our dedicated production crew, and our diligent supply chain employees. Their care and craftsmanship are the true foundation of our success."

“As a cheese grader, my job is to taste our products, identify their characteristics and make sure they meet our high standards of excellence,” said Gina Accorsi of Cabot Creamery. “In addition to our flagship products like Extra Sharp and Salted Butter, it’s great to see our unique cheddars like White Oak and Alpine receive high praise from industry experts at both competitions too.” 

The American Cheese Society Awards, announced in Buffalo, NY last week, highlight cheesemakers throughout the industry that are committed to the highest standards of cheesemaking, food safety and sustainability.

Cabot won the following awards at the American Cheese Society Awards:

First Place Awards

  • Extra Sharp Cheddar
  • White Oak Cheddar
  • Monterey Jack
  • Salted Butter

Second Place Awards

  • Alpine Cheddar
  • New York Sharp Cheddar

Third Place Awards

  • Unsalted Butter

The International Cheese and Dairy Awards, held in Staffordshire, England last month, is one of the oldest of its type and receives over 5,500 entries from world class producers of cheese and dairy products every year. This contest allows entry in the following classes: USA, non-UK, and All Countries.

Cabot won the following awards at the International Cheese and Dairy Awards:

Gold:

  • White Oak Cheddar (USA)

Silver:

  • Alpine Cheddar (USA)
  • Salted Butter (USA)
  • 10% Plain Greek Yogurt (All Countries)

Bronze:

  • Pimento Cheese Spread (All Countries)
  • Sharp Cheddar (USA)
  • Alpine Cheddar (USA)
