Cabot Addresses Voluntary Recall of Licensed Popcorn Product
Burlington, VT – October 20, 2025
Cabot Creamery Cooperative today issued an update following a voluntary recall initiated by its licensed product partner, The Farmer Companies, involving Cabot Sea Salt Caramel Cheddar Popcorn (6 oz) due to the potential presence of undeclared peanuts.
The recall applies to a single lot (Lot #2519907B1, “Best If Enjoyed By” July 15, 2026). No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported.
The affected product was produced and distributed by The Farmer Companies through a third-party manufacturer Jody’s Inc. It was not made in any Cabot Creamery facility, and no other Cabot products are involved.
“Nothing matters more to us than the trust consumers place in the Cabot name,” said Daniel Wadyka, VP Food Safety, Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs. “Although this popcorn was produced by a licensed product partner, every product that carries our brand must meet the same high standards for quality and safety.”
“We are deeply disappointed this occurred and are requiring a full review of our licensed product partner’s quality control processes and the corrective actions taken to prevent this from happening again.”
Consumers who purchased the affected product should return it to the place of purchase for a full refund or discard it.
