All you need are 4 ingredients for this wonderful little appetizer: a narrow loaf of French Bread (cut into 24 thin slices), 2 tart apples (cored and thinly sliced), Cabot Sharp Cheddar (or Cabot Extra Sharp Cheddar or Cabot Horseradish Cheddar), and walnut pieces. Once you have all of your ingredients ready, preheat your broiler and arrange bread slices on a baking sheet and toast lightly on both sides in broiler. Remove from broiler, place about 2 apple slices on each toast, mound cheese on top, and press walnut pieces into cheese. Return to broiler until cheese and walnuts are lightly colored. And they’re done! How simple was that?
