Ready to whip up some California grilled cheese sandwiches? Aside from being delicious, California grilled cheese sandwiches are very simple to make. You’ll only need a few ingredients to get started. In order to make these sandwiches, you’ll need one tablespoon of Cabot Salted Butter, four slices of sourdough bread, four ounces of Cabot Pepper Jack Cheese (sliced thinly if possible), six slices of fresh vine-ripened tomatoes and ½ of an avocado, sliced up. Once you have all your ingredients assembled, you can begin making the sandwich by melting your butter over medium-low heat in a skillet. Then place two slices of bread on the skillet, and place cheese, avocado and tomato on each slice. Place the rest of your bread on top. Cook until the bottom portion of the sandwich turns a nice, crispy golden brown. Then flip and repeat. Serve once the cheese has melted sufficiently.
