Ingredients

  • 4 (8-ounce) Cabot Bars or Cracker Cuts, plain and flavored

  • 3 - 4 types of small fresh and dried fruits and berries of varying colors and shapes, such as grapes, small pears, clementines, blueberries, dried apricots or figs, and pomegranate. Fruit choices can vary depending on what is in season. And fresh veggies are an option as well.

  • ¼ pound thin sliced salami, rolled into “flowers” (optional)

  • 2 - 3 types of nuts such as pistachios, salted almonds, walnuts

  • 2 - 3 types of crackers of varying shapes and flavors like round, square, and sticks

  • 2 - 3 small ramekins for a sweet condiment like chutney or fig jam, mustard, and pickles, olives or pickled onions

  • Fresh thyme, rosemary and sage sprigs

Directions

  1. BRING cheeses to room temperature for about 30 minutes.

  2. PREPARE fruits (and veggies, if using) by rinsing, drying and cutting as needed. Leave a few whole fruits to add interest to the board.

  3. CUT each bar or cracker cut slice of cheese into varying shapes such as cubes, squares, and stars.

  4. ASSEMBLE the cheese board in the shape of a tree on a large platter or cutting board (or directly on a clean countertop). Arrange the cheeses in decorative groupings, leaving space in between for other items. Add the fruit, salami, crackers and nuts in groups around and in between the cheese to make an attractive and colorful arrangement. Add the dishes of condiments and pickles, including a small spoon or knife for spreading.

  5. PLACE the fresh herb sprigs on the tree to resemble “branches”.
