A deliciously spicy condiment, harissa comes from North Africa. It can be served as a paste, but it’s also available as a powder. Since harissa features a lovely blend of hot chile peppers, cumin and other spices, it packs some serious bite, and it’s perfect when paired with veggies or meats like lamb and beef. Since it’s a condiment, it can be added to a wide range of other dishes, such as yogurt dips. Our recipe for spicy Greek yogurt dip is rich and flavorful. Since you’re mixing the harissa with Greek yogurt, you can easily control how spicy you want the dip to be. If you need to make a dip quickly for an upcoming party, you’re in luck—this Greek yogurt dip recipe won’t take you very long to make. The ingredients are fairly straightforward. You’ll need three tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil, minced garlic, one to two tablespoons of harissa paste (you can pick up a jarred version at your local supermarket), Cabot Plain Greek Yogurt, chopped mint, lemon juice, and salt. When making the recipe, you’ll need to heat up some oil and garlic over medium-to-high heat. Then, once the garlic starts to brown, add the garlic to a bowl and mix in your harissa—add however much you want, depending on your preference for spicy dishes. Then add the yogurt, mint, salt, and lemon. You can serve the dip right away, or you can store the dip for later—it lasts for up to three days.
