Prep Time

15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 trays of favorite Cabot Cracker Cut Slices such as Seriously Sharp and Gouda

  • Selection of 4 - 6 fresh and dried fruits such as blueberries, blackberries, apple, pear, fig, apricots

  • 2 - 3 types of nuts such as walnuts, Marcona almonds, or cashews

  • ½ cup pickled red onions, cornichons, or other favorite pickle

  • ½ cup olives

  • ¼ cup berry preserves

  • 2 - 3 types of favorite crackers of varying shapes and flavors

  • ¼ pound thin sliced salami or favorite charcuterie

  • Fresh green herbs for garnish such as rosemary, sage or thyme

Directions

  1. PREPARE your choice of fresh fruits and berries by gently washing and patting dry. Thinly slice part of the whole fruits while leaving a half piece unsliced to decorate the board.

  2. FILL small ramekins or bowls with the pickles, olives and preserves and include mini forks or spoons as needed.

  3. ASSEMBLE the charcuterie board on a round wooden board or platter (or other shape that will accommodate a round “wreath” shape) by placing the various components (dried and fresh fruits, nuts, crackers, sliced meat and cheese) in small groups paying attention to contrasting sizes, colors and textures to create an appealing display. Use the two cracker cut cheese slices as anchors in the center of the board. Place the ramekins evenly spaced around the board. Note: If not serving the charcuterie board right away leave off the crackers until ready to serve, cover with plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator. Let the cheese come to room temperature (about 30 minutes) before serving for best flavor and texture.

  4. GARNISH with the fresh herbs placing around the “wreath” to create greenery.
