Absolutely delicious served over a wedge of iceberg lettuce or a mesclun mix, this cheddar cheese salad dressing is also lovely for making an extra tasty pasta or vegetable salad. Feel free to add some roasted chicken or chopped boiled eggs (or both) to your salad for some great sources of protein and to make a balanced meal. Our Creamy Cheddar Salad Dressing will make any salad go from blah to brilliant. All the ingredients work exceptionally well together, creating a dressing that truly delivers on both taste and texture, while being unbelievably simple to make. First, you’ll whisk together extra-virgin olive oil, lemon juice (or vinegar), Dijon mustard, and minced garlic. Then, Cabot Sour Cream, mayonnaise, grated Cabot Sharp Cheddar (or Cabot Extra Sharp Cheddar), and green onions are added in. Season with salt and pepper and your dressing is done! If you want a lighter version of this cheddar cheese salad dressing, you can always substitute in our light sour cream and cheddars, as well as light mayonnaise.

- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice or vinegar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
1/2 cup Cabot Sour Cream
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
4 ounces Cabot Sharp Cheddar or Cabot Extra Sharp Cheddar, grated (about 1 cup)
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- Salt and ground black pepper to taste
- WHISK together oil, lemon juice or vinegar, mustard and garlic.
- STIR in sour cream, mayonnaise, cheese and green onions.
- SEASON with salt and pepper.
