To get started creating a successful cheese board, you’ll need a foundation of three to five different cheeses, ranging from mild to bold. We recommend using Cabot Sharp Cheddar, Cabot 2 Year Cheddar, Cabot 5 Year Cheddar, Cabot Clothbound Cheddar or Cabot Sharp Cheddar Cracker Cuts, mixed with a selection of Cabot Cheddar flavors of your choice.
For larger groups, it’s nice to precut the cheeses or use a variety of Cabot’s ready-to-serve Cracker Cuts for added convenience.
Bring the cheeses to room temperature and place them on your cheese board or platter. Don’t be afraid to pile the cheese high! Next, surround the cheese with piles of contrasting flavors and textures, such as fresh and dried fruit, crunchy nuts, olives, honey and strongly flavored chutneys or tapenades. When everything is nestled together, it creates a warm, inviting and bountiful look.
Alongside your cheese board or platter, serve an assortment of breads and crackers. Be sure to add labels for the cheeses so everyone knows what they’re enjoying!
