Steamed Artichokes and Cabot Butter

2 large artichokes
1 fresh lemon, one half sliced and one half for juicing
PREPARE artichokes: break off tough outer leaves; trim bottom of stem leaving about ½ inch; cut off top inch.
BOIL or steam the artichokes with lemon slices until cooked through, about 25 - 35 minutes. A leaf from the middle of the artichoke should pull away easily.
MELT ½ stick of salted butter and put in small bowl for dipping.
ADD juice of ½ lemon to the melted butter and on top of the cooked artichokes.
PEEL the artichoke leaves and dip into melted lemon butter.
