20 + Ways to Enjoy Cottage Cheese

Cottage cheese is trending—again!—and we couldn’t be happier. At Cabot, we’ve always loved this nutrient-rich dairy food. In fact, we have an extra-special recipe. We’ve been crafting our unique curd size known as “Vermont Style” for years.

Cottage Cheese and Berries

Not only is our cottage cheese the best base for a snack or meal, but it’s the ideal blank canvas for your creativity. We like to start with a generous scoop, then add savory or sweet mix-ins to create a customized snack—loaded with nutrients (like calcium & Vitamin B12) and packed with protein!

Cottage Cheese Mix-Ins:

Savory Mix ins…
  • Veggies. Tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and avocado - pretty much whatever suits your fancy. And a drizzle of flavorful olive oil.
  • Seeds and nuts. Stir in your favorites together or separately.
  • Grains. Quinoa, anyone?
  • Salsa. You decide - mild, medium or hot! Or try hot sauce.
  • Eggs. Plus salt and pepper.
  • Crumbled bacon. Yum!
Sweet Mix ins…
  • Fresh fruit. Try chopped peaches, plums or pineapple (or add your favorites). Berries. Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, etc!
  • Jam and toasted nuts.
  • Granola and honey or maple syrup.
  • Dried fruit. Try apricots or cranberries.
  • Chocolate. Chips, chunks or shavings!

If cottage cheese isn’t your thing…try all of these same ideas with Cabot Greek Yogurt—another great source of protein.
