20 + Ways to Enjoy Cottage Cheese

20 + Ways to Enjoy Cottage Cheese

Cottage cheese is trending—again!—and we couldn’t be happier. At Cabot, we’ve always loved this nutrient-rich dairy food. In fact, we have an extra-special recipe. We’ve been crafting our unique curd size known as “Vermont Style” for years. Really, years.  Our cottage cheese cook is celebrating 40 years working for us! (You know the recipe’s pretty much perfect with that kind of cook in our kitchen.)

Cottage Cheese
Not only is our cottage cheese the best base for a snack or meal, but it’s the ideal blank canvas for your creativity. We like to start with a generous scoop, then add savory or sweet mix-ins to create a customized snack—loaded with nutrients (like calcium & Vitamin B12) and packed with protein!

Choose your adventure:

SAVORY

 Mix in…

  • Veggies. Tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and avocado: pretty much whatever suits your fancy. And a drizzle of olive oil.
  • Seeds and nuts. Stir in your favorites together or separately.
  • Grains. Quinoa, anyone?
  • Salsa. You decide: mild, medium or hot! Or try hot sauce.
  • Eggs. Plus salt and pepper.
  • Crumbled bacon. Yum!

SWEET

Mix in…

  • Fresh fruit. Try chopped peaches, plums or pineapple (or add your favorites). Berries. Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, etc!
  • Jam and toasted nuts.
  • Granola and honey. Or Granola and maple syrup.
  • Dried fruit. Try apricots or cranberries.
  • Chocolate. Chips, chunks or shavings!

If cottage cheese isn’t your thing…try all of these same ideas with Cabot Greek Yogurt—another great source of protein.
